Meera, the wish kitty
Be very careful for what you wish for,
because you may actually get it!
This is Meera, my wish kitty.  One day in early October of 2002, while at work, I was feeling rather clucky and was wishing for
a baby.  So, I made a wish out loud, that I was ready for a baby.... a baby kitty.  Little did I know but by quitting time, some
friends would tell me that there was a kitty under my car.  By the time I got there, she had crawled into my engine and refused to
budge.  After something resembling a keystone cops movie, my best friend, Hawke, and some guys from facilities, managed to
not only get the kitty out of my engine, but into a box, only after chasing her around the Microsoft campus for a few minutes.

Owing to the bite which this kitty took out of Hawke, she was held at the Mt. View Humane Society for ten days.  Let me tell
you, I've never been so nervous in my life.  One worker at the shelter painted a grim outcome, saying that feral kitty's rarely
assimilate to people, and that they are so vicious that it's better to put them down rather than hold out hopes.

Thankfully, not only did she assimilate, but she ended up being nothing but a furry purr ball!  Everyone at Microsoft still
remembers that day and they always ask me how my wish kitty is doing.  They all think I should have played the lotto on this
day.

What can I say?  If it is true that we are granted only one wish in life, I'm glad that I made the choice for a wish kitty rather than
winning the lotto.  After all, there is only so much one can do with money, and a heck of a lot more can be gained from a wish
kitty!

The pictures where her belly was shaved were taken a few days after she arrived home when she was barely
2 lbs.

I'm not sure, but if Meera was human, I think she would chose to be a model because she's a big ham whenever the camera is in
front of her!
