The Snow Queen was made with sculpty natural feathers and painted with Acrylic. It is currently the property of my mother in-law, Jenne Michallet-Ferrier and hangs in her home in Grenoble, France.

In fairy tales, The Snow Queen is the supreme ruler of winter. It is her purpose to lay the blanket of snow over the earth in order that the snow can later become the water that is needed to feed all the inhabitants and vegetation of the earth.

Although the mask is made of sculpty, it is fully functional and can be worn as a mask with a costume.

On the forehead of the mask, I painted three wavy strips in pearl baby blue acrylic paint. The swirls signify the cold winds which often accompany The Snow Queen.
