| Confetti Promises By L. Crystal Michallet-Romero Copyright © July 11, 2006 L. Crystal Michallet-Romero All Rights Reserved Confetti promises Breaking into a union Violating a marriage Defiling a bond Confetti promises Luring the unwitting Intoxicating the drunken Captivating the sick Confetti promises Written with longing Filled with desperation Sprinkled with perfume Confetti promises Torn apart Cut into fragments To scatter asunder Confetti promises Strengthening a lie That was never meant To be. I am the Earth By Crystal Michallet-Romero Copyright © July 19, 2006 L. Crystal Michallet-Romero All Rights Reserved If you are the desert And she is the ocean Then I am the earth That is grounded for all eternity I am big, bold and beautiful. I was here in the beginning And I will be here in the end. Though the rains and winds Batter down upon me I stand firm. As the storms tear me asunder my majestic mountain peeks still Reach upward toward the sky Rising high, stretching to touch The twinkling stars and bright blue sky. In the spring my lush valleys are covered With tall green grass. My vistas are ripe and fertile With abundant life My mounds are warm and inviting Enticing to the touch. I am the earth, the renaissance woman that fills all vision with beauty. I am the faithful lover who never strays. I am the mother who cradles her children My bosoms heave with the majesty of life. My springs and rivers flow freely Pouring my euphoric streams downward To fill the cold, lonely ocean With my warm waters of life. If you are the desert Dry, barren and dying A parasite that leeches life From those nearby, And she is the ocean A complex, wild enigma, Then I am the earth Filled with abundant life and never-ending love, And a strength that only I can give Because I am the Earth. |
