After reading all of the e-mails from people who echoed my concerns, I felt strongly that I needed to
find a way to try to encourage writers to consider this topic and hopefully strive to make their work
more inclusive to those of us who stand outside of the dominating cultures.  Therefore, I've designed
an award, which has the logo of my main website, Charani.  Because she is my hardest critic when it
comes to my own writing, my beloved, Jessica, will be helping me in deciding which Fan Fiction story
is deserving of the Charani Award for excellence in the incorporation of Ethnic or Religious Diversity.

Periodically throughout the year, whenever my soul mate and I come across a story we feel deserves
recognition, we will award the author with a Charani award banner in order to have it included at the
websites where they submit their work.  Additionally, I will be making the announcement of the
winner at various websites to enable others to take part in reading the author's work and
congratulating them not only on their great writing, but also on their attempts to be inclusive within
their story.

Thank you all for helping me gather this list together and for encouraging me with the idea of the
Charani award!

Disclaimer: Stories that are awarded with the Charani Award of Excellence are judged according to
content, concept, topic and the incorporation of either Ethnic characters or Religious Diversity and
nothing more.  The awarding of this banner is purely subjective.  All banners are linked to the sites
that carry them.  I do not take responsibility for the stories, nor do I control what the author's write.
So if you come across any story, which contains spelling, grammar errors or typos, or has material
that you object to, please notify the authors, not me.

What I focus on is the
topic and incoporation of Ethnic characters or Religious Diversity and
nothing more.
